Educational Leadership

The primary mission of the Department of Educational Leadership is the development of individuals for leadership roles at all levels of education and related business/industry enterprises. Its scope includes PK-12 Education Leadership , Higher Education Leadership , and Workforce Education and Development . Our Department offers several programs, many of which involve theoretical constructs and practitioner training for those interested in careers as public or private educational leaders, policy analysis, and teachers in business and industry occupations that require educational and leadership skills or degrees focusing on educational research.

Community College Leadership

The Community College Leadership strand prepares students for leadership roles in the two-year college setting. Suggested courses for this strand are divided into two categories, community college leadership and faculty. Courses suggested under the faculty category may be of interest to students who plan on pursuing academic careers as faculty in two-year colleges or as research faculty at four-year institutions. Students with advisor consent can mix and match across the groupings.

Examples of courses that will fulfill the specialty requirements for the Community College Leadership strand (choices require advisor approval). Courses, which have been taken at the master's level either at UNLV or another institution should not be repeated for credit (* indicates master's courses).
