Clifford R. McClain

Dr. Clifford R. McClain is an associate professor for Workforce Education and Development within the Department. His areas of interest and expertise include secondary, postsecondary and adult curriculum development and instructional processes in career and technical education.
Throughout the past 28 years he has provided leadership and direction as a Career and Technical Educator in Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Nevada. He has contributed to a wide range of educational endeavors, including curriculum development projects, career and technical education funding efforts, and instructional improvement programs. As a professional educator, he has authored over 50 publications/presentations and developed grants totaling nearly $2 million. His student ratings for all classes approach 5.0 (on a five-point scale) in nearly all categories. He also maintains numerous professional responsibilities and commitments at the local, state and national/international levels.
Having been a member of AVA/ACTE for the past 27 years, he has held numerous elected and appointed leadership positions. He has held positions as State Program Director (Wyoming), school district curriculum director (Nebraska), public school teacher, assistant department chair, and is currently the Vice-President for ACTE Region V and is on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Adult Education .
Most recently, he was selected for the 2000 Nevada ACTE Outstanding Educator Award and the 2001 Region V ACTE Outstanding Educator Award.
