Sally S. Bomotti
Sally S. Bomotti is an Assistant Professor-in-Residence in Educational Leadership at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and the newest addition to the faculty in the higher education program area. Prior to coming to UNLV, Sally worked for twelve years as an administrator, researcher, and teacher at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, holding a variety of positions, such as Associate Director for Graduate Programs at the School of Education, Co-Director of the Center for the Study of Teaching and Learning at a Distance, research associate at the Research and Development Center for the Advancement of Student Learning, and instructor in research methodology, educational policy, and higher education administration.
Sally has conducted and published research in both higher education and K-12 education. For example, she has examined the professional socialization process for graduate teaching assistants, school choice - including charter schools and alternative schools - and other school reform efforts, such as high-stakes testing. She has published in such journals as the Review of Higher Education, Education Policy Analysis Archives, Phi Delta Kappan, the Journal of Educational Research, Educational Leadership, and Teaching and Change.
Sally previously worked as a reporter and editor at a number of newspapers, including the Atlanta Constitution and the Detroit Free Press.
