Educational Leadership

The primary mission of the Department of Educational Leadership is the development of individuals for leadership roles at all levels of education and related business/industry enterprises. Its scope includes PK-12 Education Leadership , Higher Education Leadership , and Workforce Education and Development . Our Department offers several programs, many of which involve theoretical constructs and practitioner training for those interested in careers as public or private educational leaders, policy analysis, and teachers in business and industry occupations that require educational and leadership skills or degrees focusing on educational research.

Benefits of the ELA

Members of the ELA help shape the various grams in the Educational Leadership department. Through student input and involvement, the departments are able to better assess the needs of students and provide the necessary resources to foster strong research, scholarship, and professional development.

Beyond the benefit to the department, ELA members are able to connect with current graduate students, program alumni, and faculty outside of courses. Current students are able to learn more about opportunities both on and off campus. More importantly, they learn specific information about the Higher Education, PK-12 Education, and Workforce Education and Development graduate programs, providing an understanding of education beyond their own discipline.
